These lead screws were well packaged in a cardboard tube. It might be a good idea to pack the whistle a bit to keep it from rattling. Both lead screws were straight with no kinks, at least not to my naked eye, when mounted and screwed into a hand drill. There is a small bevel at each end for ease of installation. The problem is T8 brass nuts. They have easy play when mounted on the lead screw. I wouldn't use them for anything that requires precision, including a 3D printer. Luckily I won't be using them because I bought POM anti-backlash nuts for that purpose. T8 brass nuts go in the trash. It would be nice if the lead screws were sold without T8 nuts or with brass (or even better, POM) anti-backlash nuts, but I couldn't find a supplier that offered them that way.
