These letters are amazing for my 3 year old alphabet fanatic. Just a couple of notes: 1. Although they are "pretty strong", they can break easily for an active toddler, and a few of them broke during my son's rough play. They are fine wood.2. I liked the idea of having a box to keep them. If you are also buying for a box - BEWARE. I had a couple of nails sticking out slightly from the bottom of the box. I never saw or felt it and when my son first played with the box at the dining table I found that it left some very large scratches on the surface that could not be repaired. Now it's a "rug only" toy. We can add felt pads or similar if we think it's worth leaving the box to keep playing.
