Bought this thermocouple in February of this year (2019). It is now the end of November, I have only used the heater in cold weather ie a couple of months last winter/spring and a month this fall. It just failed. It looked like it had melted and the tip hung down like a teardrop. I just ordered a replacement and will see how it goes. I'll try to place it closer to the top of the igniter where it's colder and not at the bottom in the hottest part. There are no instructions as to where it should be in the flame so I expected it to be fine as long as it works properly. Now I see that I can add an image. I'll try to take a picture and add it later. - rat.
