Review on πŸ”΅ Enhanced Racing Style Bonded Leather Gaming Chair in Blue, OFM ESS Collection (ESS-3085-BLU) by Ryan Olsen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Solid bang for your buck

I've spent several weeks going through all the different gaming chairs available online. While I'm fairly aware that you "get what you pay for," I've still had trouble purchasing a chair for $300 or more, the website is invisible. In the end, I decided to pull that trigger. -- Assembly - 4/5 The chairs arrived neatly packaged with no visible damage. No missing parts and everything was pretty easy to put together. As some have noted, the screw holes are tricky when you put the chair back on, but I found that the problem wasn't the offset, it was the holes in the vinyl covering the screw holes on the seat. . Just peel back the vinyl to get a clear shot for the bolt and it made it a lot easier. If you have a drill, use it. I bought two of these and the first one took about 30 minutes to assemble. When I figured out the program and took my drill, the second one lasted about 10. In general, the assembly went well, without much difficulty. Easy enough. - Quality - 3/5. Okay, let's be realistic. This is not a chair you will keep for years. I saw a review online from someone who had this chair for a year and it's held up pretty well, but we're not talking space-age materials. The upholstery is a combination of some sort of mesh and the rest is leather. The arms and base are plastic, but both are solid. All this indicates that the chair does not rock at all, and the hydraulics work reliably. It won't stand the test of time, but I expect it will work well for a few years. - Comfort - 4/5. i'm a big guy 6 feet 3 inches. I'm skinny as hell so keep that in mind. Cushioning isn't great here, but the seat's ergonomics seem to distribute my weight in a way that I'm fairly comfortable. I have found that I can get rid of the memory foam pillow I was using and after about three hours in the chair I no longer feel any pain, what a man with a bony butt like mine about as much means. Back support is great! The downside is that it's not adjustable. So if you don't like it, you may need to seek additional support. The seat itself reclines, but that's about it. a position other than "flat" and the backrest cannot be tilted backwards by itself. This is to be expected given the price of the chair, but there is a good balance of resistance/compliance if you don't have the chair "locked" in an upright position. I am very surprised at how comfortable this chair is for the price. -- Miscellaneous - 4/5 I like the fact that the armrests swing up and down and the mechanics that make this possible feel solid. I'll probably lower them most of the time, but it's nice to know I can pick them up if I want to pick up my guitar or get behind a road bike. This is a great feature. The height of the chair is perfect for me with my height so if you are a tall person that worries about this you will be fine. It's also a bit wider so even if you don't look like a scarecrow like me you should have enough room - Overall - 4/5 Overall I'm very pleasantly surprised with this chair. I like the aesthetics, it's comfortable, the quality of the hardware is better than you'd expect in this price range. I guess I'll have to replace it in a few years (I'll update my review once I've had it longer), but if you're looking for a solid gaming chair that won't break the bank, this is a great place to start to start!
