Review on Intel I5 11500 Desktop Processor LGA1200 by Mateusz Smoliski ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are several shortcomings, in principle, it corresponds to the norm.

Prots - disappointment. I bought it to sit in the near future, switched from 10100, whose cooler I have not heard for months even in games. BUT oh 3 does not digest 4k @ 60 videos on YouTube, I decided to immediately upgrade to the 11th generation. The difference in power consumption is cosmic, in fact there is no increase in games, and the cooler is buzzing like a steam locomotive from the moment you open the browser. I changed the thermocouple, downvolted, powerlimited - zero sense, this is an oven. The graphics surprised even more, maybe from 730 in fact there are 0 differences. In general, 0. 100% I advise you to take 10400f, it is more than 2 times cooler than 11500, cheaper by 5-6k, does not require 10+ phases per vrm, but with a video like 1060 there will be no difference at all on a 60-75Hz monitor. I regret the purchase a little, but most likely I will leave the percent, because it is quite productive. ps boxed cooler for replacement, of course, but the unnatural zhor and a lot of bugs in the graphics negate all the advantages of this stone. So that you understand on one stream of 4600 MHz, the consumption of the processor is 46 watts! But the matter is also in the SFF segment, since it is fire hazardous to install an 11th generation on an inexpensive ITX mother under a slim cooler in a case of 8-10 liters. Sffshnikam - only 10 generation. I do not recommend taking cheap motherboards under this stone. And even on expensive ones - spend a lot of resources on cooling, since the computer is always hot and a lot of heat, coupled with a video card, will burn everything inside the case. Super bad generation from intel.

Pros
  • Gorgeous multicore at the level of 10700, strong single thread - installation and launch of 99% of the software has accelerated compared to the old processors (the same game repacks). In older games, game streams run at 4500-4600 MHz. I launched classics like nfs mw, nfs hot pursuit - I was surprised when one thread with the game hangs at an average of 4500 MHz - I liked this moment. In cs go 4200-4400, but GTA 5 is already 4200 stable, but the load is 10-12%.
Cons
  • Ultra hot. On the desktop, without any running programs, it eats 15 watts (i3 1.8 watts), in chrome, scrolling through FB 25-35 watts. YouTube in the region of 35 watts and above. All this constantly heats up the motherboard. Throttling instantly under the boxed cooler, I had to cut pl1 65 watts pl2 75 watts 10 sec, otherwise - throttling (this is at -0.050 v Vcore). The graphics are buggy to the point where it's impossible to even watch YouTube without a video card. When video is accelerated by graphics at 1080@60, I get more than half of the missed frames when scrolling, everything constantly lags, skipping frames and in full screen. Hosting everywhere (the latest Intel driver).
