My six year old girl is tall, strong and broad and taller than her classmates (4ft tall and about 50lbs). She's just too big to fit into the typical puddle jumper that most of her peers still fit in, but she can't swim yet. (Swimming lesson failed last year because our pools didn't even open due to COVID.) It fit the bill. I was able to stay with her at my parents house which has an above ground pool with much more peace of mind (being able to run in the house to pee or get a book and know that your child is fine going is a bonus ). Don't just throw it at your child and leave them alone with their devices, but it's a game changer for swimming when older kids can't touch the bottom or just don't have the necessary swimming skills yet.
