Review on πŸ”‘ Vintage Mortise Lock Crystal Knob Set with Skeleton Key - Old Time Elegance by Romas Pennington

Great replacement for a 1925 house

After reading the reviews I decided to buy this kit to replace two locks on two doors in a 1925 house with original door handles and locks. This set was an exact replacement for a door without the need for additional holes to be drilled or the door modified. For the second door I had to drill the doorknob hole a little more to accommodate it and gouge out where you screw in the flat part of the mortise lock, but very minimally. A downside that doesn't affect use is that there is no keyhole on the opposite side of the lock, but there is a diet keyhole in the lid. Very strange. This reminds me that there is no way to open the lock from the other side when used in the bathroom when the child is locked and cannot turn the lock to open it. Keep that in mind when deciding what to use it for.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Dull packaging
