I had a computer case that was 3/8 - inch racks, and the only ones I had or could easily get were actually 1/4 inch racks. To complete the assembly on time, I ordered them and they arrived the next day. I used 3/8" rods along with 1/4" rods with two inside ends (think of it like a big nut) to hold the rod in place. I had to use different screws on the motherboard but there were many in the box. I use this now to help out in an emergency and I know it will come in handy as I end up building around 10-12 systems a year for friends and family.
