All the switches I've bought have failed in the on position due to welding. I broke one of the failed switches and found that both the mechanism and the contacts are very "light". I ended up replacing those switches with a 50 year old one I found in my trash can. Looks very similar, but the effect seems to be stronger. The old switch is rated for a real 15 amps and has outlasted all three of these cheap ones. My best advice is not to use these switches for inductive loads. I hope they are good enough for small hard loads. I think the 16 amp rating is pretty optimistic. Maybe it's a one-time estimate? <grin>
