Review on Acer XB323U GPbmiiphzx Display with HDR600, WQHD (2560X1440), 170Hz, IPS Panel by Reggie Gallegos

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good monitor, if not great

I have a second monitor, the first had a dead pixel closer to the center. Acer will only replace if you have 5 or more dead pixels, keep that in mind. You seem to get inconsistent behavior between different monitors. I'm running two monitors with gsync enabled and click on the other monitor to change something. The main monitor (Acer Predator) flickers, which is annoying, but sometimes when it flickers, it decides there's no signal and goes to sleep (50%). Then I move the window to the main screen which causes it to readjust and recapture the signal and display the image, which is incredibly annoying. The first monitor with a dead pixel flickered, but never missed a signal. Pros - Excellent color - Excellent brightness (may need to be adjusted up/down in your graphics card settings) - No ghosting or color smearing that I can detect. That's why I gave up VA panels - Great when it runs. Cons - Poor dead pixel coverage (Don't believe in your Acer product?) - Gsync causes the screen to flicker on video changes. Some panels lose signal causing the monitor to go to sleep. Fixed by resyncing. Some IPS lights but none of the ones I've had were too powerful. IPS glow is apparently inevitable and will be present on every IPS panel. Conclusion: If the dead pixel policy were better and the damm screen didn't have so much gsync flicker when plugged in that it loses the signal every now and then, this would be a great monitor. I chose this model because it has 600 nits of brightness, which is hard to find in this price range. If a competitor had similar specs, I would jump the boat.
