I think it's a bit misleading to advertise that the bag is compostable, but then on the box, it says that it is not for backyard composting. That's unfortunate, since I don't have a municipal compost facility nearby. The first few bags in the roll also had some defects (small slits) that I noticed when I mounted the bag in my bin. I can't say that I didn't cause them, but then, that would make me think that bags aren't sturdy since I haven't done anything more than pull them off the roll and spread them into the bin. My bin states it has a 5.3 gallon capacity, and these bags are barely large enough to put into the bin such that they don't fall down into it during use - because there isn't much of a lip left over, and the bags don't sit flat on the bottom. They're not bad, but I will be looking for something that can actually compost in my backyard bin, and is hopefully a bit larger for the rated capacity and more sturdy.
