and the pocket sits a little lower than I would like. A few tweaks and you should have a .

As a former paratrooper, I wanted a backpack that looked like a paratrooper and didn't scream "motivator". I wanted to make my own out of an old pocket tray but instead found this one which was perfect for what I was looking for. This is my second purchase of this bag. The first lasted me 3 years before the fabric ripped near the back straps. (This bag isn't made for heavy weights > a few textbooks and axes) The fit is a bit unfamiliar to get used to, the shoulder straps are close together and a little compressive, and the bag sits a little lower than I like. . A few adjustments and after a while you'll have a bag that feels natural to you. The biggest downside is the D-ring strap closure system. The D-rings are too small and don't create enough friction, resulting in loose straps. I find the right setting and tie a half loop to keep it from slipping off. A keeper sling would also work.
