Let's start with the fact that after turning on the laptop, you can continue about your business for another 5 minutes while it "comes to its senses." It's hard to picture the last 2 years of laptop use without using high-flown, multi-level swear words. After the laptop "went down" two days ago, the service center was kind enough to return it to me (approximately 90% of the disk was destroyed, but most of the data was retained). I agree with the other authors that if you find this HDD in a laptop you're looking to purchase, you should consider upgrading to a newer model.
