I used these switchable command hooks to hold the top door of a camper van closet. I attached it to the ceiling after cleaning the surface with alcohol, let it dry, pressed the hook to the ceiling and held it there for about a minute. After that I let it "freeze" for about 1 minute and didn't put anything on it for 48 hours. So far, after 3 weeks, the hook is still holding. I open the top door, hang the closet handle on the control hook, and the closet stays open. Make sure you choose a hook weight that suits your needs. I settled on a 2 pound hook.
