Some reviewers seem to have lost an argument with their spouses just before writing their review; ). However, I suppose doing things on an inanimate device is better than kicking a dog. This is a perfectly adequate tester with voltage readings that compare well to my Fluke. I've been using it for over a year now to quickly check several different cars and although some cars were a bit cramped due to the space around the sockets I was always able to get readings. For those who think that a minor plumbing issue renders this gauge "junk" the car may be to blame and therefore "junk" (if you insist on being dumb about such things). Overall I found this to be a handy glove gadget but since my son ran away with mine tonight I'm here to order another for myself. No coincidence, but no"garbage" either. The display could have been a bit easier to read, but that's probably due to my declining visual acuity at work. When it comes to the Alternator Test feature, you need to understand that this is a simplified assumption about the problem based on voltage and should be taken as a suggestion rather than fact. In other words, don't take LED results too seriously. This applies to all such simple testers and is not a disadvantage of this device. If you agree with the reviewers on this point, the Fluke 1587 is a great no-go alternative with all sorts of other great features available here at Revain for only $809.99; ). Best wishes to everyone.
