Review on ๐Ÿ”— High-performance SuperSoftstrand 500-Feet Vinyl Coated Stranded Stainless Steel Picture Wire by Anthony Jagers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Beware of this wire

I am a professional framer. I've been using coated wire for a long time because it looks nice and clean. I bought it for an art exhibition of my paintings. Doubled and twisted at the loop like I always do. As this coating is here, it can slowly slip and peel off. One of my pieces collapsed and luckily it had a frame to withstand the impact. The frame has been damaged. I don't know, is this cheaply made or is the cover SUPER soft, more so than usual? But we had to go around and double knot all the wire in chunks to keep it from slipping out of common best practice for a double loop in a carcass. I would NOT buy again and will only use it for small parts from now on. (The article mentioned did not exceed the weight limit of the wire either). I have framed for the upper galleries and have framed very heavy pieces and nothing has ever fallen off.

Pros

Cons
