Quieter than my other Vornado (metal old school look). At the lowest level, it's a pleasantly soft tone that helps me fall asleep. The motor has a 'hum', I'm having a hard time getting used to this noise, I prefer to hear the blades/wind so I usually use it at higher settings. If you are a light sleeper and sensitive to noise, circulation fans are not the best choice - opt for a tower fan. It also won't cool down, so that's a compromise. I love how it cools the room, love the remote control and it's quieter than other circulators.
