I used one of these for the ignition indicator on an EZGO electric golf cart. The ignition voltage is 36 volts DC, which should be 12-24 volts DC. But the instructions say 12 volts. I have no idea if they can take 24 volts or not. They also don't tell you how much current they draw in milliamps. This makes it a bit more difficult to determine the pull-down resistance needed to go from 36V to 12V. I used a 10k 1 watt resistor in series with the positive side of the LED, dropping the voltage from 36V to 9V. At 9V this LED should live forever. Plus it's still bright enough to be easily seen in broad daylight in a 9 volt golf cart. They appear to be well built and have a metal body. Just note that they might not last very long if you push 24 volts on them. I am assuming they are 12 volt devices.
