We recently had two Aussie puppies for our farm. We do not have a fenced area as we live mostly on rocks so without heavy machinery it is not possible to excavate the ground for construction. They bounced around the little playgrounds we bought later in the day and I didn't want to spend more than $300 on some of the other electric collar options. I was skeptical, did a lot of research and finally decided on this one. Our dogs are cooped up at night so this is the perfect time to charge them up. I've read some concerns about the need to center them. I've found that if I don't turn them off while charging, they stay in their center position and are ready to go the next day. I also like that they have options for sound, vibration and shock. The two puppies are very different. One is shy, the other stubborn as a rock. This way I can use different settings for each one. Totally worth it.
