It has upgraded the look and since there is no globe cover it emits a lot of light. You can use regular incandescent bulbs or Edison bulbs to add some flair. I've tried both and both look good and would still recommend LEDs. The cage is non-removable which means you will need to install lightbulbs and nuts through the cage. I think the most impressive thing, apart from the looks, is the installation of it. You screw the plate into the junction box, connect the wires and since there are already screws on the plate you just need to install the bracket and use the caps as nuts to fasten it. I don't think it could be easier. The cables aren't the best quality, but they work well. I think the price is a little high but I like my lamp and would still highly recommend it if you are into industrial themes.
