I got this as an adult because I have a nautical theme in my house and thought it would be really cute to put on the shelf, also wakes you up it to build memories as a child with building blocks. Many of the pieces are very small, so if someone has poor eyesight or has trouble picking up small items, it can be a little tricky. I'm not done with this yet and it will take some time to put this together, but for now it's pretty simple and straightforward. You get very good clear instructions with pictures of what parts to put where and a color image in the instructions booklet of how it should look when finished. The pieces stick together well and are easy to take apart if you make a mistake. Colors are just as crisp and vibrant as pictured. The parts are packed in small plastic bags in a resealable bag and all packed in a sturdy box so it can take a long time for parts to get lost during shipping. I wouldn't mind buying more from this company if they had something I would like to build or need as a gift for an older child or other adult who enjoys building models.
