Review on Devialet Phantom Reactor 900 Wireless by Jonah Riggle

Revainrating 5 out of 5

First instant delight, then great disappointment

This unit is definitely unconventional in the sense that it produces an incredible amount of crystal clear sound at any volume in such a compact package. Bass response is certainly remarkable given its size. After a month of joy, I finally bought the Devialet Phantom Gold. I suppose you can call the Reactor a drug gateway to the realm of phantoms :)) It's worth noting that it's pretty important to consider where to place it and where to sit/stand while listening as it seems differ from spot bass reproduction, especially at low to medium volumes. Update January 2020: I've had a pair of Devialet Phantom Gold speakers for almost a year now. First, they are by no means wireless as Bluetooth keeps turning off. WiFi isn't much better. The couple broke up several times about every 15 minutes. The Devialet OS 2 October update was a nightmare as it caused the speakers to not sync. It took a month to bring it back through another update. Both speakers began emitting a significant amount of noise via Twitter. This is when everything went from bad to terribly funny. The Devialet idiots have asked me for numerous videos and bug reports. I must. Then it became very quiet in turn. Before things took a turn for the worse, Ruben Garcia stepped in and basically told the dealer I bought the speakers from to get out of the way and let Devialet take care of the situation. Their idea of how to get things done boils down to ignoring you and doing nothing. Luckily, after two months of this idiotic inactivity, the trader stepped in and made sure not to let this problem go unnoticed. The threat of litigation on my part for breach of warranty eventually prompted them to offer either an exchange or a partial refund. In the end, I agreed to the exchange and traded it in for something more reliable. I wouldn't recommend these speakers to anyone until Devialet has made significant improvements in reliability and customer support. If you're unfortunate enough to deal with Ruben Garcia (if he's not already fired), insist that someone else take care of your problems. This slacker will sweep your problems under the rug and there will be nothing but excuses. Ps If a $300 Bose Soundlink turret speaker is much more reliable than a $3000 Phantom, something is seriously wrong. Spend more on R&D than media/marketing hype.

Very good price and sound, but you can find more better products within this price range.
