Review on 🚀 Boost Your 2015+ F-150's Performance with a Cold Air Kit! by Kent Kings

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Maybe it's better for f150 2015 and 2016 but if you have 2017.

I had high hopes for this shot considering Roush and Ford go hand in hand. I was expecting a near-factory fit and finish, but unfortunately it's nowhere near factory. Maybe it's better for f150 2015 and 2016 but if you have 2017 you will be disappointed I think. First, the cold air scoop fits snugly and tightly into the factory airbox, the rough airbox opening is much larger than the factory one, so the scoop won't fit in at all. There's a big gap around the air intake, which means hot air is definitely getting in. Second, you need to install a cable bracket that attaches to the factory airbox. Mounting the mount isn't difficult, but it only touches on two mounting points. If you look at the wire you can see there is another clip closer to the fender that has nowhere to attach so just hangs there. Finally, and most frustrating, is the location of the intake air sensor. 2017 has a different location closer to the center of the motor, but instead of changing the design you get a pigtail that extends the wires and you install the sensor at the end of that wire harness. Everything works fine, but now there is a wire running under the intake pipes that just hangs there. They really should have provided a way to fatten it up or attach it to the intake manifold. Maybe I'm picky, but for $400 this shot should be perfect. I didn't notice a lot of power, I think the revs are a little higher than 3000. It sounds good, albeit with a good turbo whistle.
