We bought this coffee maker to use during our kitchen renovation. Simply makes great coffee. We have a kettle and that's all you need to have a great cup of coffee while the kitchen is closed and the Kurig packed. My husband decided not to go back to Kureg anymore as he says his coffee tastes much better with a press. This press works well, there is almost no sand left on the bottom of the cup and it stays hot longer than other presses he's used. It's easy to clean (hose-spray) and the coffee grounds are good for the plants outside. It became a win-win situation with very few casualties. He likes to drink coffee outside in the morning, listening to birds chirping and looking around his garden. Who knew he'd share a cup of joe with his plants? miracle of miracles. Yes, it's expensive, but it works really well, keeping his coffee hot and the grounds end up in his yard, not his mug. yes we recommend
