I've read a lot of bad reviews but I need cheap 8-16GB flash drives to distribute copies of research materials, powerpoint lectures and microscopy videos. Yes, they seem cheap (Isn't plastic cheap? Why would any manufacturer skimp on a plastic case? But they did.) These 8GB and 16GB Sandisks work fine for me. I gave huge lectures with slides in pptx 340 format in about 20 seconds. I transferred dozens of 20-page documents with photos and diagrams in seconds. When I opened powerpoint slides, they opened almost immediately! So for my purposes they work at 4-star performance. As you can see in my screenshot, my Mac reads the drive as almost 8 full GB. I've included the disc menu to show it's very simple and concise. I also don't use hard drives with built-in write protection and passwords because our employees are always locked out. Just better! So far there have been no defective hard drives and none that no longer work. TG
