Review on Gear Up for Interactive Learning with Learning Resources Gears Motorized Pieces by Chris Brazington

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Poor design or manufacture

My son (almost 4 years old) loves the Gears, Gears, Gears toy line. He cannot build this set himself as intended; but he likes to create simpler structures. He loves the fact that this set has cars (bumper cars). The problem we have with this set is that the roller coaster doesn't work. The coaster car is too wide for the coaster or the coaster is too narrow. I called the manufacturer and they sent me a new machine. The new one didn't fit. The manufacturer said they would send a new chain if the new machine didn't fit. But I gave up before going for that option because I also got a replacement set from Revain due to one of the gears failing. The car/coaster in this set had the same problem. So I tried three cars and two tracks - none of the combinations worked. I chalked it to cheap thin plastic and moved on. My son seems less than thrilled with the roller coaster part. Someday, when my son is interested in a working roller coaster machine, my husband will try to remove the wheels, grind the axles, and change the wheels (making the car narrower).

Cons
