One of my favorite gifts I give family and friends are handmade cork coasters. And I have so much fun making them. My son-in-law requested a Red Hot Chili Peppers themed set. I ordered these because they have a nice raised hem to keep condensation away from sweaty drinks. They're cork so there will always be some degree of flex and we'll have to see if that raised edge can crumble and by how much. I coated the outer rim of one of these to see if it would affect the life of the coasters, but they really are so strong that I think they will last a long time. This cork has held up well to everything I've tried. Permanent markers, wood burning tools, spirit ink, stamp ink (although this will require some fine tuning), acrylic paint (will have to experiment with thinning a bit), ink and something I don't remember. I will order again. Packed to avoid damage and quick arrival.
