This start replaced my 6 year old TT/XM when Butt failed. It was reliable and EZ to understand and program. Very similar controls and programs with Start, short Fam and it worked for me. Two routines are not included in this great value GPS that were included in the unavailable XM. A route planning procedure that includes waypoints, almost essential for long excursions, and an automatic shutdown when the ignition is turned off. There are a few workarounds for route planning using the Alternate Route feature, but it's nothing compared to the planner's waypoints, and the alternate isn't saved as a favorite. If you travel a lot, you should check out TomTom Web. TomTom seems to think software changes are a revenue stream, forcing you to choose the top of the product line for the cleanest. I bought this item on Black Friday so got a huge discount. Attention, the device received had dated maps full of bugs reprogrammed for free, but the bug still exists accidentally, especially outside the major urban areas. Beware of fishermen and hunters. Rural, agricultural and government controlled areas should be marked on the map.
