Review on Compound Sharpening Leather Strop Paddle by Bill Russett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Never used, will always be from here.

Bought a Beaver Srop on a sale to get a knife. I wasn't really looking for slings, I had one I made and used a mix of gray powder. I received a line already coated with compound and a stem with refill paste. Loopwood is hard and straight. And great size. I was able to use both sides of my face without having to repeat the connection. The line was already completely covered with compound and wrapped in plastic. I've never used a "greasy" compound (I don't know how else to describe it). Tried right on the knife. Then I read some instructions. Once I used wet/dry sandpaper in order until it was completely sharp. Then powder the normal leather with the powder cleaner. Then on the finished leather the M7 compound polished the edge really well. The beauty of a shiny and beautiful fringe is that it seems to hold the fringe even better than a simple powder band. Good product. Well done. It was a pleasure working with the company. This will now be part of my usual sharpening and cropping method. I highly recommend it.
