After installation, a noticeable difference in taste and smell! I can't speak of longevity, but from day one it fulfills everything I hoped it would. We have city water and I liked the idea that this filter filters both double and triple filters but has double the activated carbon filtration of a double filter. Also makes 100,000 gallons versus 50,000 and cheaper. If you have no visible particles in the water, this system is all you need. The work should take me an hour. But here are a few things I learned. Use teflon tape on the 1" fittings going in and out of the assembly first before tightening and checking for leaks. Second, buy a crimping tool on Amazon for about half the price and it comes with the terminals you need. Finally, a mistake I almost made, check the water flow. I was sure I knew where the entrance and exit was. I checked and realized I was wrong. Easy installation, I had read about pex fittings etc before. Used PP fittings as they are half the price of brass and 10 times the price of shark bite. The original border in my house was polyester, so I didn't see the point of updating this piece. Plus I have a tool for future repairs and I've still spent less than a shark bite would cost.
