I have done 2 races in this suit - both in winter (California winter - maybe that doesn't count?) where the water temp was under 50 / high 40 as reported by the directing race. Of course your hands and feet will be so cold you won't feel them, but I've never been freezing in a suit. I think once the race starts the adrenaline comes with the effort and you warm up. The suit is very buoyant - I weigh 160 pounds and allowed me to swim in an upright position in fresh water. During the actual swim, this buoyancy kept my body position horizontal and saved me from having to pedal so hard to hold my lower body. This inspired great confidence in the water. Once out of the water I unzipped it with no problem and took it off to my waist while running to T1 and then took it off as soon as I got to my bike. The suit itself looks great with a large TYR logo on the front - it could be confused with any of their more expensive suits. You'll look and feel like a pro wearing this one - remember that EVERY wetsuit is unforgiving when it comes to looks. I don't care that it's black - you can see EVERY bump/bulge/fatty deposit. I highly recommend this suit, it has served me well and I am glad I bought it.
