Review on πŸ” Enhanced SEO: SRAM 3.0 Comp Twist Shifter Set for 7-Speed Mountain Bikes by Bill Forbis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easy install, works almost the same as what it replaced

I bought this to replace worn/damaged switches on my son's Trek MT220. The kit included a three-speed front derailleur, a seven-speed rear derailleur and two handlebar grips. The switches came pre-installed with cables. There were no instructions on how to remove the old pins, so I just cut them open with a utility knife and took them off. It was extremely easy to remove and swap out the switches (last year I tried just swapping out the switch wires and it was so difficult I'll never do it again). twist, etc.), but the other one went pretty easily. The grips are much thicker than they used to be on the bike. The rear shifter works the same as the previous one – one click into gear. The derailleur doesn't work like that (or my old one broke). It has multiple clicks from 1 to 3. Instead of three positions, it's now about 8. The driver now has to look to see the adjustment, or hear/feel (like in the good old days) for gear changes. This can be a little confusing for younger riders (e.g. under 10) but can actually give the rider more gear combinations as the derailleur can effectively be adjusted with a derailleur to prevent the chain from rubbing against it. more conditions.
