Review on Vanguard Alta Plus 263AGH Tripod - Aluminum with GH-100 Pistol Grip Ball Head by Kevin Graham

The tension adjustment knob on the back of the pistol grip head did not work (stuck) right out of the box - could not be tightened or loosened. As soon as the handle was pulled out, it turned out that half of the metal ring was missing in the upper part of the hole into which the handle is screwed. There are also a few scratches. I don't know if it was a previous return they sent me. I gave it 2 stars simply because the tripod could be ok if it works properly. But to be honest, for $159 I expected a better device - it's hard to find good tripods at a decent price when the 'original' price of this device was $269. If I could get my hands on this before I bought it, even if the head worked fine, there's no way I would have spent $159 on it. Now I have to go through the hassle of sending it back - very disappointed. Buy from a store where you can test the hardware first.
