I've had at least four of these straightening irons. You may be wondering why I keep buying them when they break, and that's a valid question. I have yet to find a straightening iron that can handle my coarse, frizzy and incredibly thick hair. I use an iron every day. My biggest complaint in the past has been that the cable seemed to have failed. But last time they changed the model. The first thing I noticed was that it seemed bulkier. I've been using it for about three weeks and have noticed that my tips are starting to break. Upon examining the panels, I found that there were silicone strips on only one side of each panel. Which leaves the other side open to fracture. The old model had silicon strips on both sides of the top plate. I'm so sad that I have to get a new flat iron, but nobody wants damaged hair.
