My left ankle tends to protrude to the side and the previous brace was too soft and a bit thick to be comfortable in shoes. This stand is perfect. The two sides are made of hard plastic or resin, and only a small strap that slides under the arch connects the two sides. Then the two detachable Velcro straps that you use to wrap it around your ankle can be positioned over the shoe. The inside of the two resin side supports was covered with a soft material, and I felt very comfortable when wearing it. Would definitely buy again
