I bought these to pour ginger into 1 gallon jars. I drink a lot of ginger water and at first thought the holes were too small to capture the flavor of the ginger. I grate the ginger on a fine spice grater and then fill both brewers. The hooks at the end of the chain are perfect for attaching to the hole in my lid for my jar. I use a regular ice tea container to let the ginger infuse overnight. Here are some delicious recipes: half ginger water, half lemonade with no sugar. Half ginger water, fourth cider, fourth lemonade. Ginger water, cayenne pepper, freshly squeezed lemon juice, raw honey (dissolve warm honey completely in a little water). Enjoy! ***Important Note**** I haven't seen any rust on the brewer after a month of use. The infuser is submerged in water almost every day for more than 20 hours (until the water level in the container drops and I have to rub in fresh ginger).
