I didn't think it would work well but I was wrong. I sharpened two of my EDC knives and they were both razor sharp, for example the hair on my arm was sharp and it was only a few strokes. I keep my knives in good condition anyway, but I've used other sharpeners that have actually dulled my knives than they were, but that's not the case. This sharpener has given them a great job back and if you want to make it even better, make sure you have a leather belt, even a small one, and you can get your knives into the best possible shape with this sharpener. Very happy with the performance.
