First of all the product description says there is a safety cable in the springs. No, but I don't see that as a big problem. Now for the good: This is a very nicely made, high quality item. The metalwork is first class, solid and beautifully finished. It's very smooth and I think it will continue. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Some have mentioned rust on the springs. I can't comment on that as I just installed it. The springs are a nice feature as they "give" when you sit down and "bounce" a little when you shift your weight. They smooth out sharp movements well. However, I would be even happier if they were a bit stiffer due to the weight we are putting on the swing with two adults and a large dog. Overall I'm happy with them and hope they do well, which I fully expect.
