Good quality construction
This is a good quality inexpensive machine angle. The beam/seat is wide enough to stand on its own without falling off easily as long as the blade is secured in place. The body is made of high quality blown plastic that prevents damage to the square. I can't comment on the hardness of square steel, but the steel appears to have been ground and lapped. If you don't need the exquisite precision of a Starrett square, this is a very good and much cheaper alternative.
