The antenna works fine. Excellent Customer Service

This antenna performs well for its intended purpose as an easy to deploy field antenna that extends the range of a 2m HT radio beyond a standard rubber boot antenna. I was thinking of using the antenna along with a 20ft Shakespeare Wonderpole to use ARES. Installed this way, the performance is comparable to my existing copper J antenna that I use as a fixed mount at home... and you don't need wood. Another possible use for the antenna is to run it in 5-foot Schedule 40 PVC pipe to create a rigid, protected vertical antenna that can be mounted to a pole or mast with a pair of hose clamps rod can be attached. Use a pair of pressed PVC connectors drilled top and bottom for the parachute line and coax cable to complete the antenna. I also made one of these and plan to use it for ARES or Field Day. Also, the customer service was excellent. Addendum: Instead of using grade 40 PVC pipe, which is heavy-wall PVC, I've decided it's better to use 200 psi pipe, which is light-wall PVC pipe. Both are available from Lowes.
