WARNING: AVOID THIS CLAMP

How can a simple 30 minute project turn into a 3 hour challenge? I KNOW BECAUSE OF THE CHEAP WOOD SCREWS THAT ARE SUPPLIED. The handrail is ok, but not outstanding. Trying to figure out how to remove the end screw covers isn't that easy. You have to work like a goddamn chipmunk to make ends meet here. Instead of just shrink wrap why not use red or blue so you know these things are sealed together. I would have read the instructions if I knew SPANISH! It says to use a 1/8 bit to mark and make the screw holes. Nobody uses a screwdriver anymore. I use a cordless drill for drilling and screwdriving. The holes in the flange are so close together that the powder paint started to wear out my drill chuck. I go that far down and then the cheap thin screws that come with it start removing the head because the Philips head isn't very deep. So I start removing the bolt and I still have 1/2 inch to be flush with the stock flange. I then had to use a vise to remove the screws by hand. Hey Moen, use higher quality screws instead of stupid putty. Also, make the screw heads deeper and also cut a slot so you can pry the screws out with a flat head screwdriver. One last surprise, if you're installing the rails vertically, use a sponge or something to hold the screw covers while you attach the screws to the bottom half. Until I did that, the edges were scraping the paint off. Too bad they didn't use enamel paste instead of that matte looking white paint. Very disappointed in Moena. I think moaning and groaning is what you do when you finish this project.
