Best GPU for Compact External GPU Installation

I upgraded ZOTAC 1050ti mini to this ZOTAC 1660ti without amp. It was a huge upgrade in terms of software and hardware. I am currently using this card in an Egpu setup in an Akitio Thunder 2 and am connected to a 15" Macbook Pro Late 2013 Intel i7 2.2GHz, 16GB RAM. This is currently the fastest card you can get that fits in Akitio. Thunder 2 without major modifications, although you need an additional power supply. I'm using a modified dell da-2 that puts out 220w, enough for 130w from 1660ti and 30w from akitio. In terms of performance, I compared it to User. gpubenchmark.com at 89% drain and 100 overclocked. When overclocked it runs faster than the average 1070. I've been able to consistently increase core frequency by 185MHz and memory frequency by 1700MHz. I was able to test it even higher at +205MHz for the core and +1900MHz for the memory, but it wasn't stable when playing Apex Legends, so I reduced it by about 10%. The new ZOTAC Firestorm software is great. This allows you to increase the voltage so you don't have to buy the AMP version which runs at a higher voltage by default. automatic overclocking, but I found that I could achieve a much higher overclock if I did it manually, although it took a lot longer. With automatic overclocking, you can set it and forget it, and come back 10 minutes later and you have "optimal" overclocking. The card can stay below 60* Celsius at maximum load if you have proper airflow. I run it in an unmodified closed Akitio Thunder 2 so it gets a little hotter. The fans keep the card reasonably cool, but can get quite noisy at maximum performance.
