Revainrating 5 out of 5

I can finally load 4 full size sea kayaks with minimal effort.

I can finally load 4 full size sea kayaks with minimal fuss. As you can see from the photos, mine are mounted on the top of my truck making them difficult to get, but that is the nature of the truck. I'm still working on a better process, but for now I load the inner boats by lifting them onto the back of the bed and the outer boats by standing on a 5 gallon bucket. Pros: - Luggage racks come with extra long straps AND high quality rope to attach the bow and stern to the bumpers. In addition, the rope is woven very softly, making it less likely to damage the paintwork. The ropes come with a quality hook to attach to one end. They appear to be quite tight and well constructed. I've had mine for a few weeks and have had to charge them 4 times and they seem to last a long time. The kit comes with two sizes of carriage bolts that will (I assume) fit any size crossbar. Fold up racks. because when they are not needed. Wind noise is present, but very low. They actually make my truck look cooler (compared to the stock J-Rods). Cons (depending on how you look at it) - The thumbscrews that secure the mounts make it easy to take on and off (or possibly steal). I replaced my regular locknuts "just to slow them down". Things to note: - My kayaks pictured are 15 feet and 16 1/2 inches long - My photos show three kayaks but it really shows the versatility of the kayak. Units. On one rig the spacer bar is vertical to support two, while on the other it is folded down to make room for one boat. I like it upside down for the wind. I've seen people load them right side up and while I don't think that's the best way, they do a great job. I am a big fan and can only recommend these shelves.
