Review on Enhanced Air Lift 1000 Air Suspension Kit - Model 60799 by Yousef Abood

Worked great one summer but not the next

I installed these 1000 air jacks on the back of a Ford Windstar as instructed to make towing a retractable RV easier. They worked great for the first summer and kept my tractor and RV level. Only one will be inflated this summer, although they are installed on a T-shaped tube. Hm?! The one that still inflates empty after about a minute. What a joke and waste of money. It costs too much money to just get one season so crawl under my car again to fix any kinks and leaks. Much worse. So I pick up the van and find that one side of the small black hose is kinked and slowly leaking (hence one side was temporarily inflated until air escaped the kink hole). I cut the hose and reattach it, inflate and you're done. Unfortunately, after an overland trip, a new leak developed while driving. As a result, my safety chains on the pop-up trailer almost "crunched" while driving on the interstate due to the lack of suspension (at least until I noticed it and made a pit stop). They're great in theory, but I spend far too much time fixing leaks to make it worth the effort. If I had to do it all over again, I would just put harder rear shocks on the Windstar. They would cost a lot more, but they would probably work too.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires electrical outlet
