I have been using the tidy Cats Breeze system for several years after being recommended to me by a friend. These granules last several months for me with a cat and I only change them when I really start to smell cat litter. I've heard people look at them and reuse them, but I tried it once and it was a nightmare. My cat feels a lot healthier walking around in it and it's not a mess at all. Keep dogs away from this bedding as they can choke on it. I am very careful with my three dogs, but sometimes accidents happen. There were a few times they took a few bites and one night my dog threw up a few times. They are very hard so I'm not sure if they would dissolve in your dog's stomach which could cause a blockage. If you buy gaskets for the system they last a lot longer than I expected. I strongly advise against buying a system from other manufacturers unless you like the smell of kitty litter.
