I bought this to replace a silicone steamer, was a little worried it might not be suitable for my purposes. But it is so! I use it every week to steam veggies for dog food ie beets + cauliflower + zucchini - I use a steamer to fill it to the TOP. Vegetables are always perfect! Cons: - I had to adjust the cooking time (takes LESS time than other steamers). Otherwise everything comes out bland and overcooked. - When the basket is really full, it falls into the water along with all the vegetables. I haven't found a solution for this yet, maybe a pot with a wider mouth. However, this is a 5 star product, especially for the price! It washes like the wind, folds up and stows flat. Totally satisfied with this purchase, highly recommended.
