I have found that these sensors are fairly easy to damage. They can easily overheat and become unusable. They are very delicate and should never be washed as this will also damage them. Our first sensor failed after 6 uses on the grill. Since I really like the Bluetooth device it connects to, we bought a different sensor. This second sensor that we're using now has been used twice, but I'm much more careful not to overheat it, not to pinch it. , or get wet. It should be wiped clean after each use. I can't recommend them due to their poor quality and inability to withstand high temperatures or humidity, but this is the only game in town if you want to use the Lavatools Bluetooth thermometer, so you're stuck. I would look for another, more reliable device and the probe that goes with it.
