These heavy duty plastic end caps provide ample clearance to run the 6 gauge copper wire required for 50 amps. I have found that the screw connections can be tightened just enough to ensure a secure connection. Three finger holes on the back of the plug provide enough grip to pull the plug out of a tight socket. Ideally, this plug should be weatherproofed by a cap on the RV power pole. If this plug is used as part of an extension cord, it must be protected from rain or other moisture with thick plastic as it is not weatherproof. The hole for the wire is large enough that some may need to tape the wire's outer insulation to ensure a secure fit and reduce moisture ingress.
