Review on ๐Ÿบ AMACO AMA46318R Air Dry Clay - 25 lbs. by Lori Aguirre

LOTS of good clay

This is my first experience of anything other than modelling. This stuff is really amazing. That was enough to make a life-size bust, plus plenty extra left over. If you keep it wrapped in plastic, it should stay moist all night or as long as you leave it. I don't plan on letting it air dry so won't comment, but I will say that what little I had left overnight was extremely brittle and turned to dust when I put it between my fingers pinched. I would not recommend letting it air dry. Parcel was shipped almost a week earlier than expected. This is a very heavy clay so I suggest building a support system using a tube and a wooden base for the clay to form around it. A word of advice: applying water to your fingers is a great way to smooth out the clay. All in all, this is an amazing material at an amazing price. Update: I actually decided to let it air dry as it's not my best work and it's a bit cracked. Nothing small could fix it and now it's like new. Dries very well and evenly. I painted over the wet clay with velvety underglaze before letting it dry and that seemed to help a lot. I'd just say it's really good and cheap to play around with.
