Not suitable as an air-dry clay

I'm sure it would work well as an air-dry clay if you have an oven, but it should not be sold or used as an air-dry clay. After drying, the pieces easily crumble and fall apart. This was a big disappointment for my 2nd grader.</p>

It's not what you think

I didn't read the reviews before buying Β£100 of this air cured clay. This is ordinary clay fired in a kiln. It does not contain any hardening material. I spent 2 days using it with 3 year olds at camp before realizing it wasn't what was described. Now all her little creations are broken and I run to the store and buy as much real air dried clay as I can find. I'm frustrated and wasted my time and money.

Cons
  • Not sure

This is NOT an air dried clay

Advertised as an air dry clay which means it cures at room temperature. However, the manufacturer states that this clay needs to be fired at a low temperature to fully set. Otherwise the clay will not retain its structure. You can see it in the box photo, but it's very difficult to read. I contacted the manufacturer and they told me what the packaging says. Now I have to pay a restocking fee because it's not what I need for my elementary school drawing class.

LOTS of good clay

This is my first experience of anything other than modelling. This stuff is really amazing. That was enough to make a life-size bust, plus plenty extra left over. If you keep it wrapped in plastic, it should stay moist all night or as long as you leave it. I don't plan on letting it air dry so won't comment, but I will say that what little I had left overnight was extremely brittle and turned to dust when I put it between my fingers pinched. I would not recommend letting it air dry. Parcel was…

Method that works with this clay

I decided to try this version of the clay after using the more advanced professional version. I am very happy to share my experience. It handles and spreads better than the professional version. It has a slightly damper feel, which I prefer so less water gets in when spraying or with wet fingers. All air-dried clays shrink without exception. . Make sure you have strong reinforcement. Pack it well with foam or aluminum foil to avoid shrinking.2. smear the clay around with an even and thick layer

Ideal for small projects without an oven

This tone is literally amazing. I was able to get 25 pounds of air dried clay for less than half the price of some other brands. Here's what to expect: Clay air dries relatively quickly (it depends on the thickness of the piece, but the size of the piece and the shape of the golf ball will take about 10 minutes to dry on the outside and maybe an hour to dry completely ), so make sure you keep it moist and airtight if you store it (I usually keep a spray bottle handy when I'm sculpting to re-wet
